The Student Body: The Apex Cage dorms
Woodbury School of Architecture
ARCH 283 - Spring 2020
Instructor | Louis Molina
The process began with a modeling of an armor that would go anywhere on the body with a purpose to help the student body at Woodbury. The “CSB” was invented which is the cellphone sliding backpack and it was meant for you to put your phone in, in order to prevent you from getting distracted in using it. The little cage is meant for it to slide against gravity in order to make you not want to reach for it. After, the project continued with choosing a precedent which was the Student Housing Diagonal Besós in Barcelona, Spain and the precedent was meant to understand the circulation, and ventilation. Then the choosing of the site which was the 4th and 5th year studio building at the Woodbury University campus. Lastly, the process of combining and working everything together to create dorms for the student body at Woodbury University.
